    • Former Production Manager for several newspapers in the Sun Media news chain. From 2006 until 2010. This entitled me two keys roles: Graphic Design, and overseeing the finalization of many weekly newspapers-- making sure that all graphics, editorial and sales came together seamlessly.

    EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
    September ‘09 – August ‘10     Graphic Designer, Webco Leduc Leduc, Alberta
    As company priorities shifted, so did the need for Production Managers. As more and more work was outsourced to India or moved to the Edmonton Sun, the role of “Managers” was scaled back to just ad design work.
    January ‘09 – September ‘09     Production Manager, Webco Leduc Leduc, Alberta
    Working with a large team collaborating on the creation of 8 newspapers. Most duties focus on managing either the Wetaskiwin Times or the Drayton Valley Western Review in a similar manner as before, however, in a more virtual environment 39 km’s away. When production is moving slowly for the Times or Review shortly after production, attention is turned to helping other papers in the company who have a rapidly approaching deadline (ie, Camrose, Leduc, Lacombe, etc.).
    October ‘07 – January ‘09     Production Manager, Wetaskiwin Times-Advertiser Wetaskiwin, Alberta
    Working within a team concept for a small central Alberta weekly newspaper which circulates in as many as 12,000 homes, creating ads independently as well as with input from customers and sales people, regarding imagery, sizing and type, as well as graphic requests on a commercial platform. Managed a
    department of 4 – 5 employees and delegated tasks to staff in terms of priority and individual ability. Specialized in making sure everything in all departments, (Editorial, Sales) fl owed together effortlessly.
    May ‘06 – October ‘07     Graphic Composer, Wetaskiwin Times-Advertiser Wetaskiwin, Alberta
    Working within a team concept for a small central Alberta weekly newspaper which circulates in as many as 12,000 homes, creating ads independently as well as with direct input from customers and sales people, regarding imagery, sizing and type, as well as graphic requests from individuals not directly relating to The Wetaskiwin Times (independently). When the Production Manager is away, I would fill in for this position.
    Jan ‘05 - November ‘06     Floor Sales, Sport Mart - Camrose, Alberta
     Working the sales floor during the morning shift. Duties included moving new product on the floor, creating displays for sale merchandise, researching specifics about new products, store clean-up, and of course, maintaining a healthy sales relationship with a wide customer base.

    Currently the official videographer for Sue Huff’s Alberta Party Campaign in the Edmonton, Alberta - Glenora district.

    November 09 – January 11     Staff Writer, www.criticalgamer.co.uk Internet-based Work Environment
    Job includes writing many, many previews for video games, as well as reviews and predominantly feature articles. In June of 2010, was sent to Los Angeles, California, to experience the magic that is the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). I faced hands on time with many developers and PR staff. Wrote 20+ previews for the site, many of which were blogged about positivly on developer’s own websites.
